Dear Brewster Middle School Families,
Brewster Middle School is committed to continuing the work and effort it takes to be a distinguished school. We will continue to work towards student growth, throughout the year. When the doors open for the 2024-25 school year, we will be hard at it again, preparing your student to gain the tools needed to continue this path. We feel that this is a combination of both a committed staff and students who want to achieve at the highest level. Our motto here at the Middle School…” Let’s get better at what we are already doing”, confirms by our numbers that we are living up to our motto. Our Personnel will have a few changes. Jill Malone has transferred to be the new 8th grade math teacher, Kelly Brown has transferred to be our new MS Physical Education teacher and we will incorporate Stephanie Schroeder as the NEW Special Education teacher and Julie Middleton as NEW Language Arts teacher for 8th grade.
Your student will have three core classes (Language Art/SS, Math and Science or STEM). There will be Physical Education, Band/Choir and a Technology class offered in a rotation period. The day will start with an Advisory period and conclude with an Enrichment period. The school day will also be extended for those that are needing extra time and space to get their work done, in our After's program from 3:00pm-4:00pm.
Students will need a 3 inch 3-ring binder that will be used to store all work from each class. This is to help them be organized and to keep all their work in one place. We will supply each student with these binders. We ask that you supply lined paper, pencils and pens, eraser, highlighters, and a set of colored pencils. Each room may ask for other supplies as the school year rolls out.
Students will continue to walk over to the high school for band, breakfast and lunch. The dress code is still in place and I urge you to remind your child what is and is not acceptable dress at Brewster schools. I have enclosed a copy in this mailing.
If your student is planning on turning out for any sports, they need to have an updated sports physical, must be registered on Athletic Check, and health insurance. Please make sure this is taken care of prior to turning out. The office will be open starting August 16th, sports physicals and health information can be taken care of then or at the sports night on the 15th . Athletic Check is up and running on the school website, you can now register for sports: View Brewster School District
