Over the last two Saturdays, 20 of our Brewster music students travelled to Wenatchee to participate in the North-Central Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival. Students spent hours practicing before performing for the adjudicators at the festivals. As always, I am so proud of these students and impressed at what they are able to achieve (especially when so many of them have been battling the illnesses floating around right now). Our school and community were well represented by these young musicians.
Please congratulate the following students on a job well done:
Guadalupe Churape (Trumpet Solo) - Superior Minus
Cecilia Angel, Keziah Infante, Angeles Ruiz (Saxophone Trio) - Superior
Matthew Pulsifer (Tuba Solo) - Excellent, 2nd Place in the Small Schools Division

Belen Martinez (Alto Solo) - Excellent Plus

Jayden Godinez (Tenor Solo) - Superior
Brisa Cabrera, Keziah Infante, Belen Martinez, Keira Rains (Vocal Quartet)- Superior
Mckenna Burbank and Yieily Felix (Vocal Duet) - Excellent
Brisa Cabrera (Alto Solo) - Excellent Plus
Ileana Lopez (Mezzo Soprano Solo) - Excellent, 2nd Place in the Small School Division
Lalo (Angel) Rincon (Baritone Solo) - Superior, 1st Alternate for State
Our region is one of two in Washington that has created a division for Small Schools but when it comes to the State contest, all students are in the same pool regardless of school size. Lalo competed against students from the biggest schools in the area (Wenatchee, Eastmont, Moses Lake, and Quincy) to secure his 2nd place finish. Only one entry per region moves on to state, but should the 1st place Category Winner (A senior from Quincy) be unable to attend, Lalo will take that spot.
