The Brewster School District is proud to recognize two outstanding individuals, Markie Miller and Paula O’Dea, as the 2026 Staff members of the Year. Both will be honored at this year’s Teachers Excellence Banquet for their exceptional dedication, care, and impact on students and staff.
Certified Staff of the Year: Markie Miller

Markie regularly attends student events outside of school hours, demonstrating her commitment to being present in their lives.

Classified Staff of the Year: Paula O’Dea
Paula O’Dea is recognized for her deep care and commitment to the students she serves. She builds professional, supportive relationships by understanding each student’s unique needs and tailoring her approach to help them succeed. Her ability to adapt learning experiences to match different learning styles ensures that all students feel supported and valued.
In addition to her work with students, Paula is a source of positivity and encouragement among staff. She consistently fosters strong relationships with colleagues and is known for her optimistic attitude and willingness to put others first. Her presence contributes greatly to a supportive and uplifting school environment.
